Welcome to the Murton Park Home page. This is your gateway to the Yorkshire Museum of Farming, Danelaw Dark Age Village, Brigantium Roman Fort, the Tudor Croft and the Home Front Experience.

Based just outside York. Education programmes at Murton Park are designed to provide realistic Living History experiences for adults and children both on site and in schools.

Murton Park now offers a Celtic Settlement, a Roman Fort, a Dark Age Village, Tudor experience, the Home Front Experience and Farming Museum all of which are us

Our interpretative staff cover a range of time periods from Romans to WWII all of which are linked closely to the National Curriculum. Using the ancient philosophy I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand, the aim is to enable children to better understand the everyday lives of their ancestors

Two World Titles For Sleights Man

Paul Wheater of Sleights near Whitby has had a good start in the British Masters heavy athletic season. He competed in the World 56lbs championships at Derby on the 21tst April and won 3 gold and 4 silver medals, the Whitby Gazette reported.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

New Owners Whitby's Old Whalebones 

The new and permanent owners of Whitby's old whalebones which had been sensationally put on Ebay for auction, are now owned by the team behind the recently opened luxury 5 star hotel Raithwaite Hall,  the Whitby Gazette reported.
