Location

Nautilus Cottage is tucked away in the quiet little Carr’s Yard, thought to be one of the oldest yards in Whitby. It is just a few minutes walk to the town centre with its range of shops, pubs and restaurants. The harbour and beach are also within easy walking distance and Pannett Park is just across the road with the museum in its grounds. The envied Whitby town centre location of Nautlilus Cottage is ideal for both you and your dog who is most welcome. Due to the age of the cottage and rather uneven stairs, Nautilus Cottage sadly isn't suitable for disabled holidaymakers or children.

Quaint And Cosy

This quaint and cosy former fisherman’s cottage has been fully renovated to the highest standards whilst retaining many original features. It has two bedrooms and is set out on three floors. There is also a separate storage and utility room at lower ground floor level which contains a washing machine and tumble dryer and has space to store bicycles, fishing tackle, beach clobber etc.

Inside

The ground floor of Nautilus Cottage has an open plan living / kitchen / dining room with wooden table and chairs.

The kitchen is fully fiited.with a gas cooker, fridge freezer and microwave. The owners provide tea towels, washing-up equipment and a provisions pack on arrival.

The living room with a 3-seater and a 2-seater settee, a 32” flat screen HD TV with Freesat and DVD player with a range of films. Books and board games for all ages. There is a living gas fire for those cosy evenings after a good blow on the beach. Imagine your dog curled up in front of it while you enjoy a hot drink.

The cottage has full gas central heating.

Upstairs

On the first floor is the main bedroom with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a dressing table. A hairdryer is supplied.

Shower room with shower, WC, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.

The second floor is reached by steep and uneven stairs. There is a twin bedroom with wardrobe and chest of drawers. An extra bed is available if required (please ask when booking)

Bed linen is provided but please bring your own towels. If you wish to use the spare bed there is an additional charge of £10 – this is just to cover the extra laundering costs.

Lower Ground Utility

On the lower ground floor is a large storage/utility room with washing machine/dryer, airing rack, iron and ironing board. We provide some non-biological washing tablets for you to use. Room to store bicycles, buggies, fishing tackle, beach clobber etc.

Cellar/Parking

In the cellar the owners have a dog crate available big enough to house a labrador sized hound. They would request that if you wish to leave your dog for a short period of time, that he is housed here. This is to keep him safe should he fret while you are out and prevent possible damage to himself or the cottage. They would also ask that your dog is not allowed on the furniture or upstairs. Please bring your own dog bed, food,water bowls, etc.

The Marina Car Park is a few minutes walk away from the cottage. Sometimes it is possible to find on street parking nearby.

Please note the cottage is strictly non-smoking. There is a small charge of £15 for your dog just to cover cost of extra cleaning. To book direct :-
